Ledro Sky Trentino Grand Finale

From 9 to 12 October 2025, the Valle di Ledro hosts an unmissable event: the Grand Final of the Golden Trail World Series, the international trail running circuit that brings together the world’s elite athletes.

Over four action-packed days – from the prologue to the closing party – the top 150 trail runners on the planet (ELITE category)will go head-to-head on a route that mirrors the iconic Ledro Sky course: technical, spectacular, and deeply rooted in the territory. 21 km and 1700 m of elevation gain.

The Ledro Sky Trentino Grand Finale on Saturday and Sunday will also be open to amateur runners (OPEN category: GTNS, GTC, and amateurs). Don’t miss your chance to race alongside the best in the world.

The trail climbs high and follows the panoramic mountain ridges of Ledro – the legendary “greste” – with continuous ups and downs along Cima Parì, Cima Sclapa, and Cima d’Oro, part of the Pichea-Rocchetta ridge, a natural area within the Alpi Ledrensi Reserve Network, recognised by the UNESCO MAB Programme for its outstanding environmental value.

Grand Finale Course

The Grand Finale route closely follows the legendary Ledro Sky course, with an extra 2 km and 100 metres of elevation gain.

The race starts and finishes in Pieve di Ledro, featuring an initial stretch along the lakeshore and a spectacular finale on the Ledro Trek Low — also known as the Sentiero dei Piloni — which leads from Mezzolago back to the starting point.

The Senter de le Greste, a rugged ridge trail from Cima Parì to Cima d’Oro, is sure to leave everyone breathless — both for the challenge and the views.

How to Follow the race

in Valle di Ledro

At the Village or Along the Course

If you’re a trail running fan and want to experience the excitement of the Ledro Sky Trentino Grand Finale, there are plenty of ways to catch every moment of the action!

In Pieve di Ledro, at the GTWS Village near the start and finish lines, a big screen will be set up to broadcast the entire race live. It’s the perfect gathering spot to cheer together and feel the energy of the competition.

Alternatively, spectators can position themselves along the course and enjoy some of the most breathtaking panoramic viewpoints:

  • Saval: from the malga, you can watch athletes emerge from the forest and begin the climb toward Caret. Move to Bocca Saval for more cheering before the ascent to Cima Parì.

  • Caret: a key point to encourage runners as they reach the first summit of the course.

  • Cima Parì: the highest point of the race and the GPM (Grand Prix of the Mountains) of the Ledro Sky Trentino Grand Finale.

  • Sentiero delle Greste: a dramatic ridge trail where you can follow the runners close to the sky (not suitable for those afraid of heights!).

  • Bocca Dromaè: between the ridge and the climb to Cima d’Oro, this viewpoint offers stunning views over Lake Ledro.

  • Cima d’Oro: breathtaking views and a clear look at the descent through the WWI trenches.

  • Belvedere Dromaè: the trail plunges into the forest from here—this point is also accessible by mountain bike.

How to Reach Caret, Saval, Cima Parì and Sentiero delle Greste (via Trat)

By car and on foot:
From Lenzumo (the last village in Val Concei, 4 km from Pieve di Ledro), a paved mountain road leads to a parking area below Malga Trat.
⚠️ Do not use Google Maps – it doesn't recognise the correct route.
From the parking area, continue on foot:
– Take trail SAT 435 to Caret (approx. 1 hour – 400 m elevation gain), or
– Reach Rifugio Pernici (a great place for a tasty break) and continue on trail SAT 413 to Bocca Saval (approx. 1.5 hours – 200 m elevation gain).

By bike and on foot:
From Lenzumo, follow the same road by bike. The final stretch to Malga Trat and then to Rifugio Nino Pernici becomes a gravel road and is part of MTB route 732.
From either Malga Trat or Rifugio Pernici, continue on foot (see instructions above).

How to Reach Dromaè and Cima d’Oro

On foot:
From Mezzolago, follow trail SAT 453 to Malga Dromaè, then continue to Bocca Dromaè (approx. 3 hours – 1000 m elevation gain). From there, you can follow the trail to Cima d’Oro (approx. 1 hour – 250 m elevation gain).
⚠️ Please note: this section is part of the official race route – we recommend arriving and getting into position before the runners pass.
The Botanical Trail and the WWI Trench Trail are also part of the race course—use the SAT trail or access early.

By bike and on foot:
From Mezzolago, take Via San Michele to the top of the village, then follow the forest road past Belvedere Dromaè to Malga Dromaè.
From La Valle, at the upper part of Mezzolago, follow the signs for MTB route 729A.
From Belvedere or Malga Dromaè, continue on foot (see above).

No matter where you choose to watch from, the GTWS Grand Finale promises to be a thrilling experience – a perfect blend of sport, nature and adrenaline!
