The view from the Madonnina is at its best at sunset, when the sky turns into shades of orange and red which are reflected in the waters of Lake Ledro. Our tip for the perfect way to end the day: Visit the Pile-Dwellings Museum, UNESCO World Heritage Site, and then head to the beach for a swim in the lake.

We walk into the village and we take Via Rabaglia. We take the SAT 454 path and we follow it to Sella di Monte Cocca. We make a short detour to enjoy the view from the summit of Monte Cocca and then we return to the saddle. We take the narrow wood path and we walk downhill to La Valle, above Mezzolago. We turn left and we walk uphill along the forestry road to Dromaè. Before we reach Coste di Salò, we turn into the small path on the right and we walk downhill to the Madonnina di Besta. We continue along the same path and when we reach the asphalt road, we turn left. We take the mule track, we walk past the sanctuary of the Madonna de le ferle and we reach Barcesino, which belongs to the village of Molina. From Molina we can follow the bike path to the lake.

You need to wear the right clothing and take the proper gear when you go hiking in the mountains. Even on relatively short easy outings make sure to take all you need so you don't run into trouble if things take an unexpected turn, for example a storm blows up or you have a sudden drop in energy levels.
What should you take when you go on a hike?
Your rucksack (for a day trip a 25/30L capacity should do) should contain:
Make sure you're wearing the right footwear for the trail and season. The going can get rough and rocky underfoot and a pair of hiking boots will protect you from sprains. When wet, a grassy slope, rocky slab or steep trail can be dangerous unless you are wearing the proper footwear.
And finally... don't forget to bring your camera! You'll need it to capture the stunning views you come across all over Garda Trentino. And if you like, you can share your memories with us at #GardaTrentino.
