1st Mangio – The Food & Wine Walking Tour of the Valle dei Laghi

An experience that brings together nature, tradition, and conviviality: the event offers a hiking route of approximately 10–11 kilometers set within the evocative landscapes of the Valle dei Laghi, winding through vineyards, historic villages, and castles. The initiative aims to combine the pleasure of walking outdoors with the discovery of the authentic flavors of traditional Trentino country cuisine.

The Route and the Stops

The event is structured as a series of stops, each offering a different culinary specialty paired with a local wine.

• Starting point: Castel Madruzzo / Stravino
• Stops: along the route, participants will find several refreshment points managed by local Pro Loco associations.
  The typical menu includes:
  Breakfast: barley coffee and biscuits
  Appetizer: speck, luganega sausage, and local cheeses
  First course: spätzle or potato gnocchi
  Main course: carne salada with beans (“fasoi en bronzon”)
  Dessert and finale: strudel or yogurt with strawberries, followed by coffee and tastings of artisanal grappas (the distillates from Santa Massenza are especially renowned)

Atmosphere and Entertainment

The event is about much more than food: each stop is often enlivened by live music (acoustic bands, accordions) and demonstrations of local crafts (wood or leather working), turning the day into a true community celebration.
