Garda Jazz Festival - Workshop

Aimed at musicians of all levels and instruments, to discover the basic elements of jazz improvisation

• Elements of jazz harmony: relationships between scales and chords.
• Analysis of a standard: the form, the harmonic round, the chords and the relationships between them, the scales to be used in relation to the chords.
• Analysis of a phrase taken from a famous “solo”.
• Practice in ensemble with the various instruments, applying the notions learned.
• There will be a piano, drums, guitar and bass amp available.

ANDREA TAROZZI Obtains the V.O. diploma in Piano in 1989 at the “L. Campiani” of Mantua with top marks.

After graduating he dedicated himself to the study of jazz, studying with Stefano Battaglia, Paolo Birro, Pietro Tonolo, Kenny Barron and Barry Harris in New York.

In 2000 he obtained the three-year V.O. diploma. in Jazz Music at the “F.A.” Conservatory Bonporti" of Trento with Franco d'Andrea and in 2010 the second level academic diploma with honors in "Jazz Musical Disciplines - Piano" at the Rovigo conservatory with Marco Tamburini and Marcello Tonolo.

In February 2024 he won the prestigious "Lugano International Music Competition", Jazz Piano category.
