Coming to Garda Trentino from the south, either take the A22 Brenner motorway and exit at Rovereto Sud/Lago di Garda Nord, or the SS45 “Gardesana Occidentale” road. If traffic is heavy, we recommend taking the A22 motorway.

When coming from Milan to the Valle di Ledro, follow directions for Tormini/Val Sabbia, while if heading for Comano follow signs for the Valle del Chiese.

Coming from the north, the quickest way to Garda Trentino is via the A22 Brenner motorway, exiting at Rovereto Sud/Lago di Garda. The fast SS240 main road leads directly from the motorway exit to Garda Trentino. Riva del Garda is located some 17 kilometres from the exit. As an alternative, we also recommend the scenic route via the Sarca Valley: exit the motorway at Trento Nord and follow the SS45b for almost 40 kilometres southwards. This is also the best route if you are spending a holiday further to the north of Garda Trentino: to reach the Valle dei Laghi, simply follow the signs to Riva del Garda, while to get to Comano continue to Sarche, then follow the River Sarca until Comano (signposted Comano Terme).

To ensure a carefree journey we also recommend the following local traffic information services: A22 Brenner motorway information service, traffic information of the Province of Trento and the Nago/Loppio/Mori-Sud/Mori-Casello traffic information webcams to follow the traffic situation on the SS240 road between the Rovereto Sud/Lago motorway exit and Garda Trentino.

Construction on the new Lueg Bridge
A 13 Brenner motorway

After more than 55 years of service, the Lueg Bridge along the A13, the Brenner motorway, had reached the end of its useful life. For reasons of road safety and to relieve the bridge, single lane traffic on the Lueg Bridge is required in both directions as per 1 January 2025. Only this guarantees that the existing bridge can remain in operation safely. Construction on the new Lueg Bridge is expected to start at the end of March 2025.
