From Giardino Al Sarca take the footpath that runs along the entire river Duina and continue uphill until you reach the Carabinieri station. After passing the station, proceed until you come to a small wooden bridge, cross the bridge and continue along the forest road, which is initially flat and then becomes steeper to reach the crop fields. Walk along the borders of an apple orchard towards Bono, a typical rural village of the Giudicarie area, catching glimpses of picturesque rural houses, fountains and balconies decorated with corncobs and farming tools. In Bono, you’ll find San Felice’s church surrounded by crop fields. Continue towards Gallio and Santa Croce, guided by the bell tower standing out against the sky.
The town is named after the legendary thaumaturgic cross held inside the church chapel, commemorated with an imposing monument erected at the front of the parish. The itinerary continues uphill to reach the small village of Duvredo following the sign for Castel Restor and Vergonzo. To visit the ruins of Castle Restor join a 400-metre-long detour which will reward you with far-reaching views of the villages dotted around. To re-join the original trail descend directly to Vergonzo. Pass through the houses and the cultivated land to arrive in Biè where you will find San Nicolò’s church. Follow the signs leading to Ponte Arche turning left, then go on through cultivated fields until the end of the paved road, where you suddenly have to turn left and take the trail that begins in the nearby wood (MTB signage). The itinerary descends among majestic beech trees and intersects a forest road confining with a field surrounded by woods. Here turn right and at the next crossroad turn left; after traversing another part of wood you will arrive at the industrial area of Ponte Arche. Cross the road and walk on the footpath heading towards the centre of the town. When you arrive near the square turn left on the bridge and then right to arrive to the thermal park. From there you can reach the point of departure in a few minutes crossing the wooden pedestrian bridge.
The area around Comano is connected by the intercity bus lines 211 (Riva del Garda - Tenno - Fiavè - Ponte Arche) and 201 (Trento - Ponte Arche - Campiglio – Tione) to the other places in Garda Trentino.

You need to wear the right clothing and take the proper gear when you go hiking in the mountains. Even on relatively short easy outings make sure to take all you need so you don't run into trouble if things take an unexpected turn, for example a storm blows up or you have a sudden drop in energy levels.
What should you take when you go on a hike?
Your rucksack (for a day trip a 25/30L capacity should do) should contain:
Make sure you're wearing the right footwear for the trail and season. The going can get rough and rocky underfoot and a pair of hiking boots will protect you from sprains. When wet, a grassy slope, rocky slab or steep trail can be dangerous unless you are wearing the proper footwear.
And finally... don't forget to bring your camera! You'll need it to capture the stunning views you come across all over Garda Trentino. And if you like, you can share your memories with us at #GardaTrentino.
