Garda Trentino, where nature is mirrored in its lakes

One destination – a thousand images

The landscape here ranges from wide lake shores to rugged mountain peaks, interspersed with lemon trees, olive groves and Mediterranean woodlands. In Garda Trentino it is nature itself that sets the rhythm of the panorama, with the woods around Ledro, the fields of Comano and the vineyards of the Valle dei Laghi.

And, while Lake Garda is of course the favourite, other smaller lakes, such as Lake Tenno, Lake Lamar in the Valle dei Laghi and Lake Ledro will delight visitors with their vivid colours and peacefulness, while the River Sarca and the Varone waterfall also make fine attractions with the sounds of nature and gushing waters.

The wonderful scenery of nature parks, high plateaus and conservation areas are all reflected in the water – not to mention your camera!

RESPECT FOR NATURAL PLACES

In Garda Trentino, we choose every day to take care of our destination. It’s a necessary choice to keep our territory a beautiful place to experience—whether for a lifetime or just a few days—both today and in the future. Would you like to help us? It takes little to make a big difference.

  • Take your waste with you and dispose of it in the appropriate recycling bins.

  • Respect nature: Some plant species are protected and cannot be picked. Admire their colors and take them with you in a photograph.

  • Leave flowers, stones, and historical fragments where they are, so that those who come after you can enjoy them too. Some plants can be collected in limited quantities, but without uprooting roots or tubers. Learn the rules and respect the limits.

  • Invasive species threaten local biodiversity. Avoid introducing or releasing non-native plants and animals, and learn how you can help protect the natural balance. Read more here.

  • Pick only what you know well and be cautious of potentially poisonous mushrooms, flowers, and berries. If in doubt, ask an expert.

  • Stay on the trails and avoid leaving marked paths, especially in unfamiliar areas. Respect any fences that may mark private properties or cultivated fields.

  • Observe animals from a distance. After all, Garda Trentino is their home too.

  • The lake is connected to its shores: Everything that falls into a drain ends up directly in the water. That’s why you should only dispose of waste in designated bins.

  • Reduce plastic use: There are many more sustainable alternatives. The water in Garda Trentino is drinkable, and you can refill your bottle at the numerous fountains throughout the area.
