The Riva del Garda Museum - after the autumn break - will reopen its doors with a new temporary exhibition.
The travelling photographic exhibition ‘Pietre Parlanti’ will arrive in the archaeological section of the Museum of Riva del Garda.
This project by Archeofoto Sardegna and the Menhir Museum - Museum of Prehistoric Statuary in Sardinia in Laconi - was shared and supported by the Autonomous Region of Sardinia through the Department of Cultural Heritage. Among museums and local authorities, 15 institutional bodies were involved in the photo exhibition project, including the MAG Museo Alto Garda.
Through a careful selection of images, the exhibition invites the public to a direct confrontation with a corpus of menhir statues from different regions of Italy and Sardinia, highlighting stylistic and iconographic affinities that bear witness to the existence of a wide network of cultural exchanges.
A valuable opportunity to deepen our knowledge of religious beliefs, ritual practices and symbolic representations of a fascinating and still largely mysterious era.
