This crag is suited to those who have already got a certain amount of climbing experience. Caressed by the cool breeze from Lake Garda, it offers shade from the heat on summer afternoons.
A great vertical wall with some overhangs, mostly yellow ochre in colour, which offers twenty or so vertical climbing routes which require a certain agility to move from passages among pipes to sheer stretches of overhanging rock, with handholds often rather small, hard to read and exploit. On the left hand side, there are pitches suited to practically everyone and as you move towards the right, the difficulty increases steadily.
The name of the area – which means Calvary – comes from the access trail which overlaps with a Stations of the Cross.
HOW TO ARRIVE:
On foot along the road (via Crucis) leading up to Laghel from Arco, the crag is on the left coming up the hill in an olive grove (5 min. from parking place at the beginning of Via Crucis 45° 55.441 N / 10° 53.152 E).
