Together with Spine Castle (Castel di Riga), it represented one of the main bases of penetration in the Giudicarie Esteriori of the noble family and at the same time one of the strongholds in the wars against the Campo and Lodron families. The first news about Castel Restór dates back to 1265, the year in which the prince-bishop of Trento Egnone di Appiano granted Federico d'Arco the Dosso della Vedova as a feud. With this act, the bishop allowed a castle to be built there to protect the population of the area from external dangers.
To reach the castle, it is recommended to leave your car in the nearby car park and walk up the narrow street (walking time 5 minutes).
