We are on the picturesque Olivi beach in Riva del Garda, and the muffled sound of the cork announces the end of five long years of waiting: at last, it is possible to taste in a glass the territory of Garda Trentino, from the heights of its terraced vineyards caressed by alpine breezes, to the silent depths of its lakes. Every nuance is captured in a single bottle: Brezza Riva Silente, a premium sparkling wine, 100% Chardonnay, which, born in the Alto Tennese, rests 40 meters below the surface of Lake Garda under the watchful guard of the Cristo Silente, a masterpiece by the artist Germano Alberti, also depicted on the elegant label.

The creation of this new Trentodoc from the Cantina di Agraria Riva began with a creative process in 2019, when the general manager of the agricultural cooperative Massimo Fia, along with president Giorgio Planchenstainer and oenologist Furio Battelini, decided to innovate and mature this Trentodoc Riserva in a unique way at the bottom of Lake Garda. This gamble turned out to be successful: while the initial idea was to keep it submerged for a maximum of a couple of years, after each tasting, the positive feedback encouraged them to extend it to five years. Since then, every year, a thousand bottles and about a hundred magnums are added.

A historic vineyard located at 450 meters above sea level, exposed to the warmth of the day alternating with the coolness of the night, a calcareous soil, and the beneficial breezes from the lake create the ideal conditions for an elegant and vibrant wine. Meanwhile, in the lake's depths, where the temperature does not exceed 12°C, maturation takes place more slowly, preserving the wine's freshness and liveliness, enhancing its notes of apple and pear. After five years, a team of expert divers descended, under the gaze of the Cristo Silente, to bring this masterpiece, now one with the lake, back to the surface: the bottles, covered with fine sand, shells, and aquatic plants, were transported to shore and delivered into the hands of the creators, industry experts, sommeliers, and enthusiasts, who could finally uncork and savor the result of so much time and effort.

Once on the beach, the first sip was worth the wait: thanks to the underwater aging, the sparkling wine developed an elegant texture and an unmistakable personality, shaped by the unique conditions offered by the lake's embrace and its deep breath. The perlage is fine and persistent, the aromas evolved and refined, and the intensity of each velvety sip, a blend of freshness and pronounced saltiness, invites one to savor this Trentodoc, with a more intense and lively foam compared to those aged in the cellar.
