Winner of the prestigious ‘Lugano International Music Competition’ category ‘Jazz Piano’ and published by CatSoundRecords, Andrea Tarozzi presents
‘In Roy's Mood’, dedicated to Roy Haynes, drummer born in Boston in 1925.
Accompanied by double bass player Federico Valdemarca and Oreste Soldano on drums, the trio plays pieces by composers such as Thelonious Monk and Charlie Parker, James Van Heusen and Harry Warren, pieces that the American drummer interpreted in his long career: famous themes such as Monk's ‘Hackensack’ and ‘Trinkle Tinkle’ or ‘Sugar Ray’ once again highlight how Andrea Tarozzi is strongly linked to jazz that many call ‘classic’ without falling into the trap of calligraphic reinterpretation.
In addition to the technical preparation of the musicians and their harmony in the execution of the pieces, the music flows naturally, which only happens when the musicians who create it have common languages and respect not only for the authors of the music, but also for each other.
